NCBL Condemns Genocide in Gaza
The National Conference of Black Lawyers re-affirms its October 2023 Statement on the Israeli war on the Palestinian people of Gaza and the other occupied territories.
It further condemns both the genocidal atrocities committed by Israel in the past seven months and those which the Netanyahu government promises to embark upon in Rafah despite the calls from the international community to desist from such catastrophic actions.
White House Resolution on Juneteenth
WASHINGTON, DC – June 19, 2023, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) released the following statement commemorating Juneteenth:
“Nearly 160 years after the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were freed, I join in celebrating Juneteenth with communities in the 37th District and across the country.
“Years later, policies and rhetoric aimed at sanitizing Black stories persist. But to recognize Juneteenth is also to recognize the vestiges of slavery and racism that still exist today in our nation. I hope today we can celebrate, honor, and learn from our history. Black history. American history.
