The Dunston family has graciously selected Black Family Summit, Inc. as one of the organizations receiving financial donations in honor of Baba’s legacy. Black Family Summit, Inc. is classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the standards of the Internal Revenue Service. Therefore, your donation will be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. The donations will support programming that partners Black-led grassroots/outreach organizations operating in local communities with BFS organizations for the purpose of capacity building, staff/volunteer wellness initiatives and training in support of a collective purpose of strengthening Black families and communities.
Our village is indeed sorrowful, & we are grateful to have encountered him on life’s journey;
Our village will shed tears as part of our mourning, & pour water during libation rituals as we call his name;
Our village will miss his elderhood and leadership, & we will apply what was learned as a means of honoring the life, the love
and the legacy of Baba Leonard G. Dunston.
